About the position

The Heroku Postgres/PLSQL Developer II is a pivotal role responsible for the analysis, design, development, and implementation of software projects and operational maintenance tasks within the Data hub using the Heroku platform. This position requires a deep understanding of Heroku, Postgres, and PL/SQL, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions. The developer will be tasked with designing and developing optimized and scalable solutions, ensuring that data flows seamlessly from source systems to Heroku and subsequently to Salesforce Lightning and CRM Analytics. This role also involves improving data architecture to better support business needs and defining new development requirements through effective communication with stakeholders. In addition to development responsibilities, the Heroku Postgres/PLSQL Developer II will work closely with testers and DevOps engineers to test and deploy Java-based web applications on the Heroku platform. The role includes participating in process improvement initiatives and maintaining the Heroku Postgres environment. Troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis for any issues that arise within the Heroku Postgres system is also a critical part of this position. The developer will collaborate with third-party vendors and offshore development teams to ensure the successful delivery of product enhancements and maintenance support. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and unit test optimized and scalable solutions using the Heroku platform.
• Manage all data interfaces from source systems to Heroku and from Heroku to Salesforce Lightning and CRM Analytics for multiple applications.
• Improve data architecture and optimize data flow to support business needs.
• Define new development requirements through communication with requesters.
• Collaborate with testers and DevOps engineers for testing and deploying Java-based web applications on Heroku.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and maintain Heroku Postgres.
• Enhance integration between source systems and Heroku, as well as between Heroku and Salesforce or CRM Analytics/Tableau.
• Troubleshoot Heroku Postgres, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve issues.
• Analyze and understand Java source using data transformation in Heroku.
• Collaborate with third-party or other IT teams for successful product enhancement or maintenance support.
• Work with offshore third-level development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent curriculum.
• Around 5 years of experience in a programming position.
• 3 years of deep experience in Heroku integrations/Postgres.
• 3 years of experience in PL/SQL programming and debugging.
• 1 year of experience in Java programming and debugging.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Superior problem-solving skills.
• Good documentation skills.
• Willingness to assist users with their tasks when needed.
• Certification on PaaS platform, Postgres PL/SQL is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Automotive Industry/Salesforce Heroku initiatives.
• Certifications on Salesforce skills, especially on back end/integration/reporting.
