About the position

Core Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Rosedale, MD. This is a 13-week travel contract position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while providing essential care to patients in hospice settings. As a Hospice RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses, ensuring their comfort and dignity during their final stages of life. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, assess patient needs, and provide emotional support to both patients and their families. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will have the chance to explore the beautiful state of Maryland during your assignment. Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with their care plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and changes in condition.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding end-of-life care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the delivery of care.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland or compact state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Certification in hospice and palliative nursing (CHPN) is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills may be beneficial for patient communication.
