About the position

Ventura Air Services is a privately held 135 operation with offices in Farmingdale, NY, and Nashville, TN. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Controller to join our growing team. Ventura Air Services doubled the size of our fleet in 2020 and we're still growing. We're looking for someone with a great head for aviation maintenance who thinks fast on their feet and can give clear direction to our crews when needed. The Maintenance Controller will be responsible for providing clear information affecting maintenance status, action plans, return to service estimates, and other technical information as required to Flight Operations, Management, and Maintenance Department personnel. This role requires direct communication with flight crews when operational discrepancies are discovered, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained by technicians to perform prompt and effective repairs. Utilizing maintenance tracking computer systems, the Maintenance Controller will accomplish the planning, scheduling, and logistics to complete all scheduled maintenance activities within the requirements of the aircraft inspection programs. The role also involves updating the Computerized Maintenance Tracking Program with verified compliance information using audited return to service documentation and updating Flight Operations Software (FOS) in real time, indicating aircraft fleet maintenance status. Additionally, the Maintenance Controller is responsible for ensuring that mechanical delays are handled in a safe and expeditious manner in accordance with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). Coordination with Flight Operations and Maintenance is required to expedite aircraft return to service control and tracking of all Deferred Maintenance Items (DMI), including MEL and CDL. The role also includes completing and distributing all applicable forms and documents in accordance with procedures set forth in the company General Maintenance Manual, providing a point of contact and control for maintenance performed on company aircraft away from the main maintenance base, and performing MX Planning in issuance and tracking of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance Authorization Forms. Other duties may be assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear information affecting maintenance status, action plans, return to service estimates, and other technical information as required to Flight Operations, Management and Maintenance Department personnel.

Requirements

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Experience with Turbine Powered Aircraft
  • Experience at a 135 operation is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings and weekends on call) as needed for coverage
  • Experience with Citations and/or Challengers is preferred.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $60,000-$80,000 based on experience.
