About the position

Sigma Defense is seeking a Mid-Level Anti-Tamper Engineer/Technical Writer to design, test, implement, and document program protection measures for software and hardware capabilities integrated into weapon systems. The role involves producing technical designs, collaborating with system engineers, and ensuring compliance with DoD Anti-Tamper policies.

Responsibilities

  • Produce preliminary prototype technical protection concept designs with recommendations for architecture, components, and data structures resulting from Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs).
  • Produce detailed designs of hardware and software prototypes that protect critical attack surfaces in accordance with key performance parameters.
  • Build hardware and software prototypes that provide technical protection capabilities and demonstrate prototype functionality as integrated with the target weapon system.
  • Assist with review of information from subsystem Points of Contact (POCs) to complete various technical protection related tasks applicable to prototype solutions.
  • Collaborate with System Engineers to develop requirements for successful technical protection implementation and documentation of prototype designs in related Plan and/or Program Protection Plan (PPP).
  • Provide assistance to System Engineers on researching advanced technology that incorporates hardware technical protection aspects.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Anti-tamper implementation and Program Protection Plans.
  • Experience with HW and SW systems design, testing, and integration.
  • Knowledge of DoD Anti-Tamper policy directives and techniques.
  • Understanding of Anti-Tamper design milestones and their relationship to the acquisition cycle.
  • Familiarity with models of security, including protection, detection, and response approaches.
  • Ability to reverse engineer threats to hardware and software systems.
  • Expertise in specifying, designing, and evaluating Anti-Tamper technology.
  • Strong technical writing skills for updating program security plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of program protection plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Ability to obtain an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Anti-Tamper Systems Engineering Course (ATSEC) is preferred.
