About the position

The individuals who perform this job support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in achieving all store objectives including maximizing sales, ensuring team member productivity, assisting in payroll controls, and driving overall profitability in the store. They train on how to supervise sales staff, stockers, cashiers, receivers, and all other non-management team members. In addition to managerial training duties, they assist as needed throughout the store and are proficient at all in-store functions. This role is crucial in maintaining the operational standards of the store and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company's mission and values. The position requires a proactive approach to guest service, team management, and operational excellence, ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently. Essential duties include maintaining a uniform standard as detailed in the Employee Manual, managing bank deposits, responding to emails and phone calls, and driving guest service standards by motivating team members. The individual will also demonstrate proficiency in all operational disciplines, perform various job duties as needed, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role involves training team members on operational disciplines, maintaining a favorable working relationship with all employees, and assisting in the hiring process. The individual will also be responsible for resolving guest complaints, supervising cashiers, and preparing for inventory processes. Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in achieving store objectives.
  • Train on how to supervise sales staff, stockers, cashiers, receivers, and other non-management team members.
  • Open and close the store, arm and disarm the alarm system.
  • Manage bank deposits and balance safe.
  • Drive guest service standards by motivating team members and modeling expected service behaviors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all operational disciplines including receiving, cashiering, stocking, sales, and paperwork expectations.
  • Assist guests with product suggestions, focusing on in-house brands when appropriate.
  • Supervise cashiers and review till reconciliation for accuracy.
  • Work with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to create schedules and assign specific tasks to team members.
  • Assist in the hiring process using the Human Capital Management (HCM) system.
  • Immediately document and report workplace injuries and instances of theft.
  • Walk the store daily to review pricing, verify price tags, and ensure cleanliness.
  • Maintain and assign monthly/weekly/daily cleaning schedules for the store.
  • Assist in the inventory process and verify accuracy of receiving paperwork.

Requirements

  • Retail sales management experience preferred.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred, but experience is valued.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
  • Effective writing and presentation skills for business purposes.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in whole numbers and fractions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Experience with TABC compliance and food handling permits.
