About the position

The Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the front end operations of a retail store, ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing staff, handling cash flow, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the front end area. The manager will also be involved in training employees and addressing customer complaints, all while meeting departmental budgets and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Champions corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed division customer service goals.
  • Manages and schedules duties of Front End Clerks, Courtesy Clerks, Service Operations Assistant, and Service Supervisors.
  • Manages and meets departmental budgets and financial objectives, ensuring compliance with service scores and sales projections.
  • Directs and supervises front end operations, monitoring customer traffic flow and the cleanliness of the front end sales floor.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures related to cash handling, product sales, and employee conduct.
  • Handles cash flow requirements including deposits, armored car service, and monitoring cashier funds.
  • Oversees the coordination of front end employee training in conjunction with the Administrative Coordinator.
  • Responsible for maintaining the fresh appearance of checkstand merchandisers and ensuring proper signage.
  • Reviews refund, voids, and override reports to control excess transactions.
  • Creates department schedules to meet customer needs and communicates schedule changes as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of front end operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform one and two-step math calculations accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to train and develop staff effectively.
  • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale systems and cash handling procedures.
