About the position

The Graphic Designer position at the Minnesota Historical Society is responsible for creating and adapting the visual identity of the organization across various platforms, including advertising, print materials, signage, and digital media. This role involves collaboration within a creative services team to manage design assets, maintain quality control, and ensure adherence to brand guidelines while supporting the organization's marketing and communication efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of visual materials including digital and print ads, brochures, flyers, posters, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to create efficient workflows.
• Source and maintain approved visual assets for use on multiple platforms.
• Provide quality assurance and advise on visual brand direction.
• Serve as a catalyst for proactive change, ensuring the use of the latest and most effective design to market and communicate services.

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Strong understanding of branding, typography, and color theory.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
