About the position

The Payroll Specialist at the Minnesota Historical Society is responsible for providing professional support for payroll operations, procedures, and technology. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance, while also offering guidance to other HR employees and collaborating with the People and Culture team to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process and coordinate MNHS payroll operations in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Participate in projects related to payroll and HR initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Assist in training employees on payroll information, tools, and processes.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current on payroll processes, legal requirements, and technology.
  • Collaborate with the People and Culture team to support departmental goals and ensure the needs of MNHS staff and external customers are met.

Requirements

  • Experience in payroll processing and operations.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills for preparing and analyzing payroll reports.
  • Ability to train and support employees on payroll processes and tools.
