About the position
The 1st Grade Teacher at Desert Thunder School is responsible for providing quality classroom instruction in alignment with Arizona State Standards and district policies. The role emphasizes collaboration with mentor and master teachers to enhance instructional practices and improve student achievement. The teacher will engage in professional growth activities and maintain a positive learning environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality classroom instruction guided by Arizona State Standards.
- Collaborate with mentor and master teachers to enhance teaching expertise.
- Participate in the Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) for instructional accountability.
- Develop and maintain an Individual Growth Plan (IGP).
- Use formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress.
- Align lessons to district curriculum and state standards.
- Integrate educational technology into classroom instruction.
- Maintain organized and well-managed instructional groups and transitions.
- Communicate effectively with students, peers, and administration.
- Participate in professional growth activities to improve teaching skills.
Requirements
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- SEI Endorsement (minimum requirement).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching 1st grade or similar educational settings.
- Familiarity with Arizona State Standards and district policies.
