The 1st Grade Teacher at YES Prep Airline Elementary is responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for students. Responsibilities

• Developing rigorous lessons in specific content areas for 1:1 blended learning environments.
• Setting ambitious goals with students and monitoring their progress through feedback.
• Tracking student growth and creating growth plans when needed.
• Building relationships with students and families through regular communication.
• Creating a conducive classroom environment for learning and development.
• Collaborating with co-planners to enhance lesson plans and resources.
• Meeting deadlines for lesson plans, grades, and work samples.
• Working with a team of teachers to provide support and accountability.
• Participating in Professional Development to improve student learning.
• Conducting weekly tutorials for additional student support.
• Completing supervision duties to ensure student safety.
• Growing professionally through feedback and collaboration.
• Being available for communication with campus leaders, students, and parents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Texas Educator Certification or willingness to obtain certification through ACP.
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
• Ability to instruct students using various technology applications and platforms.
• Commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced environment.
