About the position

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating the school's instructional program based on student needs.
• Ensure effective use of instructional time to maximize learning.
• Develop a climate of openness, fairness, and mutual respect in the classroom.
• Engage every student in grade-level appropriate learning experiences.
• Model and reinforce self-discipline and responsibility among students.
• Work effectively with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning.
• Provide professional leadership to establish a culture conducive to learning and diversity.
• Develop and implement strategic planning systems including lesson plans.
• Use formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate student achievement.
• Establish and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment.
• Manage student misconduct and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Promote independent and collaborative work among students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student achievement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university.
• Possession of, or eligibility for, a Florida teaching certificate for the level and subject area to be taught.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong growth mindset in teaching practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge or intention of implementing The Leader in Me curriculum with fidelity.
• Florida certifications in Elementary Education for teachers in Grade K-5.
