About the position

The 2P Machine Operator position at Lincoln Premium Poultry involves taking direction from supervisors to meet production goals while rotating through various production machinery. The role requires learning the basic functionality of equipment and ensuring compliance with food safety programs. Operators will perform daily setup, operation, and maintenance of machines, as well as participate actively in production tasks.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from Supervisor or Manager to accomplish set production goals.
• Rotate to all production machinery to learn basic functionality of equipment.
• Set up and operate assigned machines, including startup and shutdown procedures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, maintaining equipment with basic PMs.
• Perform repetitive tasks including handling unfinished and finished products, boxing, and packaging.
• Transport products to and from the production line and inspect for quality and defects.
• Adjust machine settings as needed and clean workstations.
• Dispose of trash and refuse, utilizing small hand tools, meat scissors, and knives.
• Assist in training co-workers as directed.
• Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively and positively interact with team members in all departments.

Requirements

• Ability to achieve a 40% or higher on the maintenance machine operator exam.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be able to pass required physical including demonstrating ability to lift required weight.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
• Must wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
• Experience with lock out tag out and other machine safety guidelines.
