About the position

The Assistant Runner at Mom's Meals plays a crucial role in the production process by efficiently pulling and staging ingredients while adhering to food safety and quality assurance protocols. This position requires flexibility in working hours, including early starts and overtime, to ensure smooth operations in the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for pulling ingredients from the freezer.
• Verify proper quantities, lot numbers, and locations of ingredients.
• Assist in pulling ingredients or supplies from trucks and trailers when necessary.
• Scan product in and out to the proper location.
• Report any defects, damage, or discrepancies.
• Identify damaged, lost, or missing materials and notify Lead/Supervisor immediately.
• Ensure First Expired/First Out practices are maintained.
• Operate forklift, scanners, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment if necessary.
• Assist with pulling P2's & boxes as needed to Plate & Pack, or other production areas as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist in cycle counting/auditing when necessary.
• Willingness to spend extended amounts of time in freezers; organizing, pulling, and putting away products.

Requirements

• Previous forklift and scanning experience.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Initiative and ability to work with little supervision - self-directed.
• General understanding of inventory management.
• Good reading comprehension, basic math & reasoning skills, and basic data entry ability.
• Good time management and prioritization skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)/food safety rules.
• Must be able to flex schedule 1-2 hours on either end of shift when needed.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years' warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing and/or food distribution industry.
• Understanding of AX computer inventory system, scanners, and inventory systems.
