About the position

As a CMM Programmer and Operator at Kelly Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of manufactured components by programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). This role involves collaborating with various teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize measurement programs for CMM using Zeiss Calypso software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to create accurate measurement routines.
• Use advanced CMM software to automate processes and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure proper specifications.
• Set up and operate CMM for dimensional inspections on components.
• Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure conformance to standards.
• Troubleshoot CMM equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Support calibration activities and assist with APQP/PPAP for suppliers and internal operations.
• Generate inspection reports detailing measurement results and non-conformities.
• Analyze measurement data and implement corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Create work instructions for machinists and operators.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in CMM programming and operation.
• Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., Zeiss Calypso) and CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia a plus).
• Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, metrology principles, and Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen principles is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.
• Ability to analyze complex measurement data and identify discrepancies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with pallet, positional, and para-file programming is a plus.
