About the position

The position involves assisting in the preparation of doors for a spray booth, ensuring adherence to safety policies and regulations. The role includes various responsibilities such as inspecting doors, applying paint, and maintaining a clean work environment. Employees will also cross-train in other functions within the Fortress Department, contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing doors for the spray booth according to safety policies.
• Inspect doors for defects prior to spraying.
• Paint tops of doors and apply brackets to them.
• Disassemble glass in doors to prepare for spraying.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in prep areas.
• Read work tickets for items to be finished.
• Coordinate necessary materials for prepping or spraying products.
• Assist in setting up machinery using work tickets and trade skills.
• Feed spray machine with wood products and catch material as it processes.
• Maintain and clean spray machine parts and the spray booth area.
• Wrap finished products for customer deliveries.
• Tally and complete orders in the computer system.
• Operate a forklift safely when licensed/trained.
• Assist other departments with inventory and 5S projects.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Knowledge of wood species and woodworking processes.
• Ability to use measuring devices accurately.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Knowledge of general safety guidelines in carpentry or construction.
