About the position

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Machining Coordinator/Relief Supervisor to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 055. The hourly pay rate for this position is $34.31, plus an additional 4.5% shift premium. All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible scheduling and completing the required drug screen, blood test, and physical capabilities test within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance. This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($1,000) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($1,000) is payable after one year of employment. The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift. Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturday as well.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on-duty shift supervisor with meeting daily production requirements
  • Help assess and assign the day's work and labor appropriately
  • Manage special projects and planning
  • Provide training and support to personnel
  • Occasionally work with outside vendors
  • Provide coverage for Shift Supervisor as needed
  • Monitor work activities and coach personnel
  • Perform machine set up and machine operation as needed
  • Maintain safe operations and ensure proper staffing requirements
  • Prioritize daily activities to ensure timely shipment of quality products

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 2-year related leadership experience, training or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-year related machining experience, training or equivalent
  • Must attend leadership classes recommended by MV
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Effective communication skills with others at all levels
  • Ability to carry out instructions and deal effectively with problems
  • Basic math abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CMM use
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and databases
