1st Shift Machining Relief Supervisor (Dept. 055)

About the position

The Machining Relief Supervisor at Milwaukee Valve is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, assisting the on-duty shift supervisor, and ensuring that production requirements are met. This role involves planning, training, and providing coverage for the Shift Supervisor as needed, while also performing machine setup and operation. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to coach and assist personnel in meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist on-duty shift supervisor with meeting daily production requirements.
• Help assess and assign the day's work and labor appropriately.
• Manage special projects and planning activities.
• Train personnel and provide coverage for the Shift Supervisor as needed.
• Monitor work activities and coach personnel on machine setup and operations.
• Ensure safe operations and proper staffing requirements.
• Prioritize daily activities to ensure timely shipment of quality products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of related leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Strong organizational and mathematical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CMM and manual measurements.
• Proficiency in using MS software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
