About the position

Embassy Suites by Hilton is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Full-Time Security Patrol Officer to join our team at the Louisville Downtown location. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests, staff, and property. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for patrolling and inspecting the hotel premises to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activities. Your presence will deter criminal activity and ensure that guests feel safe and comfortable during their stay. You will monitor entrances and exits using the hotel’s security camera system, greet and assist guests, visitors, and vendors, and lock and unlock doors as required. In addition to your patrol duties, you will observe and report any violations of hotel policy and law, complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner, and perform key audits as requested by management. You will also conduct fire safety inspections and coordinate responses to emergency situations, ensuring that you maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to your responsibilities. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can follow directions, communicate effectively, and take charge in emergencies. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a security-related field preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required, and Hilton Certification in security is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity.
  • Monitor entrances and exits through the use of the security camera system.
  • Greet and assist guests, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Lock and unlock doors, including manual overhead doors as required.
  • Observe and report violations of hotel policy and law on the property.
  • Deter criminal activity or other problems through visual presence and intervention.
  • Complete incident reports with accurate information and in a timely fashion.
  • Perform key audits as requested by General Manager, Human Resources, and Rooms Manager.
  • Conduct fire safety inspections and coordinate responses to emergency situations.
  • Enter dead bolted or secured rooms when necessary.
  • Perform investigations of claims of loss, incidents, or injury/illness and track and report on their trends for the premise.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required for performing job responsibilities that require discretion.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a security-related field preferred.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to follow directions and directives from supervisors.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately recount witnessed situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Nice-to-haves
