About the position
The Freight Unloader position is a critical role within our warehouse team, responsible for unloading freight from trucks and ensuring proper sorting and storage. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Unload freight from trucks and transport it to the appropriate storage area
- Sort and organize freight according to destination and type
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to move freight
- Ensure that all freight is properly labeled and stored
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse or freight handling environment preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work day shift hours
