About the position

The 2D Graphics Designer at Salem Sports Events LLC is responsible for creating graphic designs that meet specific project requirements in a timely manner. This role requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. The designer will collaborate closely with the Supervisor and Client Relationship Managers to determine the scope of various projects, ensuring that all designs align with the tournament and company brand identity. The designer will gather necessary information and materials from the Design Manager to prepare for each project, maintaining client-specific colors, images, text styles, and layouts for final outputs. In addition to creating designs and layouts, the designer will be responsible for maintaining brand consistency across all client deliverables. Effective communication is essential, as the designer must keep relevant personnel informed about project statuses and adhere to calendar deadlines. The designer will also present their designs to the Supervisor and Client Relationship Managers, review designs for errors before submission, and incorporate any recommended changes into the final designs. It is crucial for the designer to maintain organized file locations based on approvals and to keep change logs updated. The position requires a valid driver's license, as the designer may need to travel to event locations for printing, installation, and application of graphics. The designer is expected to maintain and expand their knowledge of relevant software and perform other related duties as assigned. This role is ideal for someone who is artistic, creative, and possesses strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines while collaborating effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create graphic designs to specifications in a timely manner.
  • Meet with Supervisor/Client Relationship Managers to determine the scope of a project.
  • Gather information and materials from the Design Manager to prepare work.
  • Create designs/layouts that maintain tournament and company brand identity.
  • Maintain client specific colors, images, text style, and layout for final output.
  • Create and maintain brand consistency for client deliverables.
  • Communicate project status with relevant personnel.
  • Keep apprised of calendar due dates and adhere to calendar deadlines.
  • Maintain open communication to allow input from the Design and Manufacturing team on all steps of the development process.
  • Present the design to Supervisor/Client Relationship Managers.
  • Review designs for errors prior to submittal and/or production processes.
  • Obtain approval of concept by submitting initial layout for approval.
  • Incorporate changes recommended into the final design.
  • Maintain file location based on approval and updating change logs.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of production techniques and awareness of timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and application of graphics functions and equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Prior work experience required.
  • College degree preferred.
