About the position
The Vehicle Lift, Air, Lube & Wheel Equipment Service Technician at Meco Inc is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing installations, and conducting both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various equipment. The role emphasizes customer satisfaction and requires a clean driving record as technicians will operate company vehicles. The technician will also maintain service vans and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform installations on air, lube, wheel & lift equipment.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance based on customer needs.
- Represent the company professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Pass a DOT physical and maintain a clean driving record.
- Perform factory authorized modifications per specifications.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair air, lube, wheel & lift equipment.
- Analyze and determine corrective actions for service and repair of customer equipment.
- Open and close work orders with Dispatch, providing service repair narratives.
- Conduct site inspections to determine needed repairs to site equipment.
- Maintain part inventory and supplies in the service van.
- Ensure regular maintenance is performed on the service van and required repairs are completed.
- Follow safety rules and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience or training.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with mechanical tasks such as installing valves and fittings.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a pump and small engine mechanic.
- Knowledge of electrical controls and electronic wiring.
- Experience with computer tasks such as software installation and networking.
