About the position

The System Administrator III is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting the organization's networks, including LAN and WAN. This role involves maintaining systems, applications, security, and network configurations, as well as managing firewalls, switches, and routers. The System Administrator III monitors network performance, conducts analysis and testing, and ensures secure and reliable operations. Additionally, the position requires evaluating new network systems and applications, providing technical support to users, and maintaining documentation of systems and network architecture.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support the organization's networks (LAN, WAN).
• Maintain systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
• Manage firewalls, switch stacks, switches, and routers.
• Monitor network performance and conduct analysis/testing.
• Ensure secure and reliable operation of the network.
• Manage firewall and backup solutions, resolving connectivity issues and service disruptions.
• Test the network for weaknesses and create/maintain a disaster recovery plan.
• Evaluate new network systems and applications, recommending upgrades and patches.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users.
• Design, configure, implement, and maintain firewalls and VPNs.
• Manage Domain Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other integrated systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation of systems and network architecture.
• Perform after-hours implementations, maintenance, and problem resolution as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or IT Related disciplines.
• 7 years of large scale website systems administration experience.
• Experience with ITIL best practices preferred.
• High volume, consumer website experience.
• Thorough knowledge of IT environments, technologies, and system hosting infrastructure.
• Strong experience administering high volume web applications on Microsoft Windows servers, IIS, and .Net framework.
• Strong experience administering high volume Linux servers.
• Experience with open source technologies.
• Experience with Database Technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Network configuration experience with firewalls and load balancers.
• Experience with release management processes.
• Experienced with integrating web components such as CDN & CMS.
• Cloud computing experience (AWS, OpenStack) is a plus.
• Experience with various networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, NFS).
• Must have scripting background.
• Strong communication, customer relationship, organizational, and follow-through skills.
• Working knowledge of networking, load balancer, and Cisco equipment is very strong.
• VMWare Virtual Center experience highly preferred.
• Technical certifications are a plus.
