About the position

The Adjunct Faculty position at Winston-Salem State University for the 2024-2025 academic year involves providing instruction for undergraduate and graduate-level courses in various areas of education, including Elementary Education, Professional Education, General Education, and Special Education. Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach course materials and lessons for major courses in Birth through Kindergarten Education, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, Special Education, Secondary Math Education, Secondary English Education, and Education Technology.
• Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabi to students.
• Use evidence-based research in teaching and provide engaging assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes.
• Challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning while maintaining mutual respect.
• Complete grade books, mid-term and final grade submissions, syllabi submissions, learning assessments, and final exam assessments in a timely manner.
• Respond to student questions promptly and ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
• Model professionalism and serve as a role model for students in professional, social, and civic areas.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or higher in Education or a closely related area, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours from an accredited institution.
• NC Teaching License.
• Three years or more of teaching experience and related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Doctorate Degree in Education (Birth through Kindergarten Education, Education, and Special Education) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Previous experience teaching online.
