About the position

SUNY Brockport is seeking applicants for anticipated openings for part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Public Relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in video, journalism, media writing, and/or theory-based subjects. This position is part-time and temporary, aimed at enhancing the educational experience of students through high-quality instruction and engagement in the field of media and communication. The university emphasizes experiential learning, and the adjunct lecturer will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking. The adjunct lecturer will be expected to develop course materials, deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and assess student performance. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in media/communication or related field by time of appointment from an accredited college or university, or substantial professional experience in a media field.
  • Substantial teaching experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctorate or MFA in media/communication or related field by time of appointment from an accredited college or university, or more than 10 years professional experience in a media field.

Benefits

  • Salary of $4000 for a 3 credit course.
  • May be benefits eligible.
