About the position
The Autism Teacher at Deskin Elementary School is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism. This role focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the unique needs of each student, fostering their academic and social development. The teacher will collaborate with other educators and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students receive the necessary resources and support to thrive in their educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with autism.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
- Must possess a current teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education.
- Certification or appropriate endorsement in the relevant subject area is required.
- Experience working with students with autism or special needs is preferred.
