About the position
Everett Public Schools is seeking K-8 After School Enrichment Teachers to lead engaging after school programs in various areas such as STEM, art, athletics, and leadership. The role involves developing and facilitating curriculum tailored to student interests, ensuring participation, and managing group behavior. Teachers will work in three 10-week sessions throughout the school year, with responsibilities including lesson planning, attendance tracking, and family engagement.
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate lessons informed by student interests such as theater, music, gaming, creative writing, robotics, and more.
- Take regular attendance and document weekly activities, tracking student participation to ensure at least 8 students per club.
- Engage with families and students to promote regular attendance.
- Utilize technology provided by the district to create engaging activities linked with 21st Century skills.
- Manage group behavior using Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies to motivate students and limit disruptions.
- Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards to promote self-confidence and team-building.
- Utilize inclusive practices for students with disabilities and English language learners.
Requirements
- Current EPS employee in good standing.
Nice-to-haves
- 2 or more years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school grades.
- Multilingual capacity.
- Previous experience with successful enrichment programming in the Extended Learning Department.
