The 1:1 School LPN/LVN plays a crucial role in identifying and treating health disorders among students within the school environment. This position is dedicated to providing instruction aimed at promoting the general wellbeing of students and preventing disease. The School LPN/LVN is responsible for monitoring the physical conditions of students and referring them to appropriate resources when necessary. All duties performed by the School LPN/LVN must comply with the LPN/LVN scope of practice and adhere to state education codes, ensuring that the health and safety of students are prioritized at all times. In this role, the School LPN/LVN will provide first aid care and administer medically prescribed services as needed. They will maintain the security of school health supplies and medications, ensuring that all materials are accounted for and used appropriately. Follow-up evaluations on students will be conducted as required, and the LPN/LVN will correspond with parents regarding their children's health needs. Accurate record-keeping is essential, as the LPN/LVN will document immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data. The School LPN/LVN will also be tasked with identifying any abnormal growth and development in students, discussing these findings with parents to ensure proper understanding and action. Developing and maintaining comprehensive health records for each student is a critical responsibility, as is fostering positive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff. Additionally, the LPN/LVN will support student medical needs during transport when applicable, ensuring that all students receive the care they require in a timely manner.
