About the position
Bella Mente is looking for highly motivated and caring individuals to join our teaching team. Our teachers have high expectations of themselves and their students. Interest in the Montessori philosophy and a project based learning preferred but not required. Bella Mente Academies is a free public Montessori school, located in Vista. Our entire middle school (7th and 8th grade students) consists of approximately 80 students with each class period consisting of approximately 20 students. This position teaches 2 periods of Grade 7 English and 2 periods of 8th grade English as well as academic intervention and elective(s), such as Drama. The mission of Bella Mente Academies is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an education based on an "quality" curriculum founded on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. We promote an educational atmosphere that encourages cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic diversity. At the end of the academic school year, each Bella Mente scholar will be at or above grade level. Students at BMA master foundational skills in core content areas and learn how to work effectively on group and individual projects. Teachers provide systematic and explicit instruction in foundation skills balanced with hands-on thematic projects and experiences in the community, while allowing students to explore personal areas of interest, all based on the studies of Maria Montessori. Students leave BMA having built a resume of Academic success Leadership experiences Healthy living practices.
Responsibilities
