About the position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking part-time Guest Educators for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is designed for individuals who can provide coverage in various capacities within our schools. Guest Educators may work a full school day covering for a teacher who is absent, or they may provide rotating coverage, also known as 'floating', when teachers are in meetings or otherwise unavailable. The position allows for flexibility, as Guest Educators will be scheduled on an as-needed basis and will be contacted in advance to confirm their assignments for the day. The role requires maintaining high expectations for both student behavior and academic performance, as well as effective communication with the teaching team to ensure a smooth transition in classrooms. The Guest Educator position is part-time, with a maximum of 25 hours per week, and offers an hourly pay rate of $18.50. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, and the position is expected to start in mid-July. Guest Educators should be prepared to work at any of the KIPP Jacksonville campuses, demonstrating flexibility in their availability. Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for teachers who are absent for the entire school day.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or 60 completed college credits.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers.
  • Commitment to high expectations, growth mindset, and educational equity for all children.
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Clear path to obtaining a Florida Teaching Certification.
  • Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting.
