Lawrence Family Development Charter School (LFDCS) is dedicated to fostering an educational environment that promotes language acquisition and academic fluency in both English and Spanish. As a Spanish Teacher, you will play a crucial role in implementing effective teaching practices that support our dual-language program. This position requires a commitment to building students' fluency in Spanish while also enhancing their proficiency in English. You will be responsible for creating a classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and engagement, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed in both languages. In this role, you will teach students to read and write in Spanish, providing a comprehensive instructional program that aligns with the goals of our Dual-Language Program. You will also be expected to maintain consistent discipline practices that integrate seamlessly with classroom instruction. Collaboration is key; you will participate in monthly Response to Intervention (RTI) meetings for your assigned grade levels and meet weekly with grade-level classroom teachers to support parallel skills in both languages. Additionally, you will assist with standardized test administration or translation as needed, ensuring that all students are adequately prepared for assessments. Communication with parents is vital, and you will work to foster a cooperative family partnership that aligns with the school's mission and enhances student achievement. You will also engage in school-based professional learning, adopt innovations and technology advances, and invest in your personal and professional development through ongoing training. Finally, you may be asked to provide letters of reference for students applying to high school, particularly for those in grade 8.
