About the position

The Redondo Beach Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher for a full-time, temporary, short-term position at Adams Middle School. This role is set to commence on August 26, 2024, and will conclude on February 3, 2025. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shadow in the classroom for two days prior to the official start date, allowing for a smooth transition into the teaching environment. This position is designed for educators who are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere for students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. You will work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications to succeed academically and socially. The role requires a strong commitment to promoting the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of students, as well as a dedication to maintaining high expectations for all learners. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential with Mild to Moderate Support Needs.
  • English Learner authorization.
  • Copy of Transcript.
  • Credential Copy.
  • Letter of Introduction addressed to Dr. Nick Stephany, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
  • Three current letters of recommendation (for internal candidates: 1-2 current letters of recommendation).
  • Resume.
