About the position

The Redondo Beach Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher for a full-time, temporary position at Birney Elementary School. This role is essential in providing specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities, ensuring that they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and socially. The ideal candidate will possess strong classroom management skills and a thorough understanding of current educational curricula. In this position, the Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The teacher will collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to create a cohesive educational experience that supports the diverse learning styles and abilities of students. The role also involves monitoring student progress, adapting instructional strategies, and providing a safe and secure learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation. Candidates must hold a valid California Education Specialist Credential in Mild to Moderate Disabilities and are required to submit a copy of their transcript, credential copy, a letter of introduction addressed to Dr. Nick Stephany, and three current letters of recommendation. Internal candidates are required to submit one to two current letters of recommendation along with their resume. Selected applicants will undergo background checks through the DOJ, FBI, and NASDTEC to ensure compliance with credentialing standards across all states.
