About the position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair of heating and air-conditioning units throughout the Leander Independent School District. This role involves troubleshooting HVAC systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring the efficient operation of climate control systems across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting techniques for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Change filters, clean units, and perform preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Complete repairs as requested on work orders or by maintenance supervisor.
  • Commute to and from multiple facilities within the district using a district-owned vehicle.
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.
  • Practice safe procedures while working with electricity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certificate of completion from an approved HVAC trade school.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Reclamation and Recovery certification.
  • Two years experience in Commercial HVAC.
  • Valid Texas Class 'C' Operator's Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • TX air conditioning/refrigeration contractor license or technician certification preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary of $24.85 plus approved work experience.
  • Full-time position with 247 work days per year.
