About the position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair of heating and air-conditioning units across the Leander Independent School District. This role involves troubleshooting HVAC systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe operational procedures while working with electrical systems. The technician will commute to various district facilities and is expected to maintain a high level of attendance and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting techniques for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Change filters, clean units, and perform preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Complete repairs as requested on work orders or by maintenance supervisor.
  • Commute to and from multiple facilities within the district using a district-owned vehicle.
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.
  • Practice safe procedures while working with electricity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certificate of completion from an approved HVAC trade school.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Reclamation and Recovery certification.
  • Two years experience in Commercial HVAC.
  • Valid Texas Class 'C' Operator's Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • TX air condition/refrigeration contractor license or technician certification preferred.
