About the position

The Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking part-time Job Coaches for the Discover Program at the Child and Career Development Center. This program is designed to provide high school students with disabilities a comprehensive work-based learning experience that prepares them for the transition from school to adult life. Job Coaches will work closely with students, either one-on-one or in small groups, to facilitate their learning in community business settings. In this role, Job Coaches will teach essential soft skills and employment readiness skills in real-life, hands-on environments. They will help identify each student's interests and strengths, fostering confidence in their abilities. The position also involves developing critical work behaviors, problem-solving skills, social skills, teamwork, and independence among students. Additionally, Job Coaches will be responsible for collecting data on 25 attributes related to student performance, which will be shared with the student and their Individualized Education Program (IEP) team for skill development and goal planning. Job Coaches may need to meet students at their workplaces or drive them in CCIU vans, which requires a valid PA Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record. The CCIU is committed to providing quality, innovative, and cost-effective educational services to enhance the lives of students and educators in Chester County. The organization values creativity, dedication, and collaboration among its employees, aiming to create brighter futures for students and families in the community. This position offers flexible scheduling, with a maximum of 26.25 hours per week, and the opportunity for summer work. The work hours will vary by location but can be up to 5.25 hours per day, primarily during the school day, not after school or on weekends. The anticipated start date will be determined upon the conclusion of the hiring process.
