About the position

The UX Designer at T. Rowe Price plays a crucial role in the UX design process, focusing on analysis, ideation, prototyping, and user acceptance testing. This position involves developing design artifacts, user personas, and conducting contextual research while collaborating with users and business analysts to capture feedback and requirements. The designer will also conduct usability studies and create effective information architecture to align user goals with workflows, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Applies basic understanding of the financial services and asset management industries.
  • Connects one's own work with the strategy of their team and/or department.
  • Engages in business-led conversations, providing expertise on related methodologies.
  • Applies user research findings to inform design decisions.
  • Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear.
  • Demonstrates strong logic and reasoning capabilities through thorough requirement building and aligned solutioning.
  • Delivers results aligned to business requirements and anticipated outcomes.
  • Demonstrates understanding of relevant tools and methodologies.
  • Articulates all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Knows of relevant and modern software methodologies (e.g., Agile, XP, Scrum).
  • Seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills.
  • Demonstrates competence in one or more UX design methodologies (e.g., Interaction Design).
  • Builds wireframes and mock-ups, user journey maps, etc.
  • Fluent in tools and techniques to produce wireframes and mock-ups (e.g., Figma).
  • Generates user flows, information architecture, and product design specifications.
  • May collaborate with development partners and is guided by senior UX colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of total relevant work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Technical proficiency with Figma (or Sketch), FigJam, Miro/Mural, and Zoom.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and workflows.
