Outward, Inc. is seeking talented research interns for its engineering team, focusing on delivering innovative visual experiences. The team is engaged in solving complex problems in imaging, computer vision, graphics, and machine learning. Interns will have the opportunity to work on various projects that involve applying advanced techniques in Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) for tasks such as segmentation and detection, enhancing visual content creation through generative algorithms like Stable Diffusion, and supporting the integration of AI into production processes to streamline workflows and automate tasks. Additionally, interns will contribute to developing AI solutions aimed at improving quality control and enhancing product visuals. The internship is designed for graduate students currently enrolled in programs such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar fields. Candidates should be on track to graduate with their Ph.D. or MSc degree between Fall/Winter 2024 and Spring/Summer 2025, and must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. The role requires experience with scientific libraries such as NumPy and scikit-learn, image manipulation libraries like OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Strong software engineering skills in Python or C++ and effective communication skills are also essential for success in this position. This is a paid internship lasting five to six months, starting in October 2024, with the flexibility to work between 20 to 40 hours per week.
