About the position

The Seasonal Golf Groundskeeper position at Estes Valley Recreation and Park District involves performing essential landscape and grounds maintenance tasks at the golf course. The role focuses on ensuring a safe and enjoyable golfing experience for residents and visitors while promoting the sport of golf within the community. This position requires operating various manual tools and grounds equipment, working a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays, typically from May through October.

Responsibilities

• Operate a riding mower and perform turf management practices to maintain golf course standards.
• Mow, edge, aerate, and remove organic waste and debris from turf areas.
• String trim unmowable grass around plants and structures, rake bunkers, and hand remove weeds.
• Assist in daily maintenance of both golf courses using riding mowers, string trimmers, aerators, and backpack blowers.
• Handle light equipment maintenance at both golf courses.
• Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Promote positive customer service relations and establish effective working relationships with other employees.

Requirements

• At least sixteen (16) years of age.
• Knowledge of the game of golf is preferred.
• Ability to learn policies, rules, and regulations of the golf course.
• Knowledge to use a variety of hand tools and larger equipment including riding mowers, tractors, and maintenance-related equipment.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to enforce and direct the public in policies, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in equipment operation.
