About the position

The Seasonal Golf Starter/Ranger position at Estes Valley Recreation and Park District is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable golfing experience for residents and visitors. The role involves promoting the sport of golf, enforcing course rules, and ensuring customer satisfaction while working under the supervision of the Manager and Assistant Manager of Golf Services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the staging of golf carts and returning them to the barns as needed.
• Patrol the golf course property to direct players and enforce course rules.
• Enforce established rules among golfers, such as replacing divots and wearing proper clothing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public using excellent customer service skills.
• Work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Expedite play as necessary and respond to complaints from golfers.
• Promote positive customer service relations and maintain water bottles and supplies on the course.
• Operate a motor vehicle for business purposes and ensure the practice range is open and properly maintained.
• Pick and clean range balls throughout the day and keep starter house and range areas clean and stocked.
• Maintain rental club equipment and ensure cleanliness of tee boxes and clubhouse area.
• Render first aid and be knowledgeable in the use of AED and CPR training.
• Check play tickets and ensure smooth flow for play on the course.
• Coordinate daily events and tournaments.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the game of golf and ability to learn course policies and regulations.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and at least sixteen years of age.
• Ability to enforce and direct the public in policies, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees.
• Ability to maintain records and files.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to handle money and make change.
