About the position

The Intern - Business Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in assisting with initiatives aimed at driving process improvement and automation within the Sales and Commercial Operations teams. This internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the optimization of business processes. The selected candidate will interact with various business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gain a comprehensive understanding of their challenges and requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is available to start immediately and continue through the Fall term, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment. In this position, the intern will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements. They will identify business problems and design effective solutions to address these issues. A significant part of the role involves analyzing existing processes to uncover improvement opportunities or gaps that can be bridged through innovative solutions. The intern will also create and maintain documentation that outlines both the current state and the envisioned future state of various processes, ensuring clarity and alignment among stakeholders. This internship not only offers practical experience but also the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that impact the organization. The intern will be expected to develop their problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and technical documentation capabilities while working closely with experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements.
  • Identify business problems and design solutions.
  • Analyze processes for improvement opportunities or gaps.
  • Create and maintain documentation of current state and future state processes.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-seeking program in Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study.
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to solve technical challenges and apply critical thinking.
  • Ability to document requirements for both technical and end-user teams.
  • Excellent time management and listening skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, capable of addressing both technical and end-user audiences.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to meet or exceed business needs.
  • Experience with Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
