About the position

The Veteran Acceleration Program (VAP) at BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC is a one-year initiative aimed at providing military veterans with training and valuable on-the-job experience in the manufacturing sector. This program is specifically designed for veterans with an Honorable discharge who may lack prior manufacturing experience. Participants will engage in full-time work while receiving training in either Maintenance or Automotive tracks, focusing on technologies such as Body Shop, Paint Shop, Assembly, or Battery. Successful completion of the program leads to a conditional job offer and a US Department of Labor journeyman's certificate.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-the-job training in designated program tracks: Maintenance or Automotive.
• Complete training in specific technologies: Body Shop, Paint Shop, Assembly, or Battery.
• Engage in internal BMW MC training programs.
• Work full-time at BMW MC, committing to 40 hours per week during the program.
• Complete an Associate Degree if not already earned.

Requirements

• Honorably discharged from active duty, currently in the National Guard or a branch of the military reserves.
• Successful completion of the BMW pre-placement physical and substance screen.
• Participation in internal BMW MC training.
• Commitment to working 40 hours per week at BMW MC during the program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Military Occupation Specialties (MOS) related to maintenance, mechanical, electrical, electronics, systems repair, or vehicle repair.
• Computer experience.
