About the position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking to expand its world language program by hiring additional Spanish teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The role involves instructing students across various grade levels, ensuring they meet state requirements for college admission, and fostering a positive classroom environment. Teachers will collaborate with the electives department and are responsible for implementing curriculum, assessing students, and building relationships with families.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in Spanish across multiple grade levels and sections.
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement the Spanish curriculum effectively.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with the electives department and other teachers.
• Build relationships with students and their families.
• Run a club or enrichment block related to Spanish language and culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility for certification in Spanish K-12.
• At least one complete year of teaching middle school or high school Spanish with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
• Commitment to racial and educational equity for all children.
• Ability to pass a background check as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

• ESOL Endorsement.
• Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
• Experience teaching honors level or AP level courses in high school.
