About the position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This role involves expanding the world language program by providing quality instruction in Spanish to high school students, ensuring they meet state requirements for college admission. The teacher will create a positive classroom environment, implement curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues and families to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in Spanish across multiple grade levels and/or sections.
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement the Spanish curriculum effectively.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with the electives department and other teachers.
• Build relationships with students and their families.
• Run a club or enrichment block related to Spanish language and culture.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility for certification in Spanish K-12.
• At least one year of teaching experience in middle or high school Spanish with a proven track record of high achievement.
• Commitment to racial and educational equity for all children.
• Ability to pass a background check as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

• ESOL Endorsement.
• Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement.
• Experience teaching honors or AP level courses in high school.
