About the position
Freedom Preparatory Academy is seeking permanent substitute teachers to support its growing network of charter schools. The role involves implementing lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and ensuring students achieve mastery of concepts across various subjects. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other educators to maintain curriculum alignment and uphold the school's high academic standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out lesson plans of the regularly appointed teacher.
- Model the network's core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, community, and excellence.
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations in the classroom.
- Foster students' social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Create and maintain a positive classroom culture.
- Use data analysis of student performance to inform teaching practices.
- Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law and regulations.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop strategies for student success.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Two to four years of urban teaching and educational leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Math, Science, English Language Arts, ESL, and Social Studies.
