About the position

The 2025 AI Research Associate Program at J.P. Morgan is an internship opportunity aimed at exploring and advancing cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Interns will engage in significant research projects that impact J.P. Morgan's clients and businesses, collaborating with internal teams and leading academic faculty. Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end research within a specialized focus area.
• Work on multiple research projects in collaboration with internal and external researchers and applied engineering teams.
• Formulate problems, gather data, generate hypotheses, and develop models and algorithms.
• Conduct experiments, synthesize results, and build prototype applications.
• Communicate the significance of research findings and contribute to high-impact business applications, open source software, patents, and publications.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Extensive programming skills in Python, Java, or C.
• Proficient understanding of fundamental AI and ML techniques.
• Practical experience with statistical data analysis and experimental design.

Nice-to-haves

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science (especially AI/ML) or related field.
• Research publications in prominent AI/ML venues.
• Strong expertise in specialized areas of relevance to AI in Finance.
• Practical experience with ML platforms such as Tensorflow/Keras, PyTorch.
• Comfort with rapid prototyping and disciplined software development processes.
• Practical software engineering experience in collaborative project settings.
