About the position

The Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) division is seeking Engineering Interns who are eager to apply their skills in the System Engineering discipline. This role involves working within a dynamic cross-functional team to plan, design, develop, integrate, and test innovative solutions that address customer needs. Interns will engage in real-life applications of their academic knowledge, contributing to various engineering documentation and system requirements development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications in a System Engineering Database (SEDB) tool.
  • Prepare interface control documents, hazard analysis, and test plans and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, including system engineering plans and requirements specifications.
  • Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of requirements to hardware, software, and personnel components.
  • Perform reliability and maintainability predictions and allocations for equipment and systems using RAM software-based tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical judgment and attention to detail in system design.
  • Devise innovative solutions to problems and prepare reports to present results to management and clients.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university engineering program, preferably completing junior or senior year.
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited course of study.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during the summer or throughout the year as academic schedule allows.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • 3.0+ cumulative GPA.
  • Academic excellence and community involvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with system life cycle models, including the Vee model.
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes.
  • Experience using a reliability software tool (Reliasoft, Relix, etc.).
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering Tools (Cameo Systems Modeler).

Benefits

  • Base pay rate of $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
