About the position

Gain world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. As an AbbVie ATC Co-op Jr. BSA, you will participate in TWO paid 6-month long full-time work stints (the first from May-November 2025 and the second from May-November 2026). These stints involve immersion within a business technology team, as well as social and development activities. You will work on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide, while also combining technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project team members to complete project goals as determined by project scope.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to generate recommendations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including workflow diagrams and data mappings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the design of effective technical solutions.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise presentations.
  • Track project milestones and major deliverables, ensuring timely completion of the project according to its scope and goals.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate responsibility in managing one's project through timely and transparent communication and task completion.
  • Conduct data analysis and assist in the development and implementation of business solutions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in related discipline: Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), or Business Administration with a minor or concentration in MIS or IT; or related fields.
  • Graduation date at least June 2027 or later.
  • Ability to return to join the ATC between May-November 2026.
  • School or work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Organized and conscientious problem solver with the ability to find, evaluate, and synthesize information sources.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative in overcoming challenges and suggesting potential solutions.
  • Familiarity with project-based research work, either through student organizations or academic classes.
  • Willingness to collaborate and actively engage in independent learning and open discussion.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to present content in informative and engaging ways, both written and verbally.
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills and ability to research topics with reputable sources and generate insights.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous internship or related experience.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred.
  • Basic understanding of business process analysis, system development methodologies, and project management principles.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside through at least June 2027.
