About the position
The Buyer Summer Intern position at Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is designed for students pursuing a degree in Business or Supply Chain. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes while supporting the Procurement Manager in various tasks. The role is based in Clarksburg, MD, and is set to commence in Summer 2025.
Responsibilities
- General support to the Procurement Manager.
- Assists in preparation of past-due delivery reports and contacts suppliers for updated status.
- Assists with the expediting of on-order material in support of production.
- Interacts with Accounts Payable to assist with supplier invoicing issues.
- Interacts with the Receiving Department to assist with material receipt issues.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college and have completed at least 2 semesters within Business or Supply Chain field.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Able to work independently with a self-motivated work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor to interact with various positions and levels within Thales.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and effectively multi-task to meet demands.
- Must be proficient in English both verbal and written.
