About the position

The Chemical Engineer Intern position at BHE Renewables is designed for college students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. This internship provides an opportunity to support various activities associated with the development and construction of mineral development projects. Interns will assist in evaluating potential investments and acquisitions, conducting due diligence, and performing research to inform business evaluations. The role involves developing and maintaining reports, presentations, project schedules, and plans, as well as tracking project financials, invoicing, and the development and construction status of projects. In addition to project management tasks, the intern will assist in the preparation of contracts, permit applications, and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The position also requires analyzing financial models and summarizing information for the development team based on this analysis. Interns will be expected to perform additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the projects they are involved in. This internship is part-time and located in Calipatria, CA, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in mineral development. Responsibilities

  • Supports all activities associated with the development and construction of mineral development projects.
  • Assists with evaluation and due diligence on potential investments, acquisitions and other business evaluations and performs research.
  • Develops and maintains reports, presentations, project schedules and plans, and tracks project financials, invoicing and development and construction status of projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of contracts, permit applications, regulatory filings and other activities necessary to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze financial models; provide summary of information to development team on analysis.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in chemical engineering.
  • Prior utility, energy or renewable industry experience helpful.
  • Software skills needed to be used in extracting information from various sources, conducting analysis and assisting workforce to achieve goals.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer background check and drug screen.
