About the position

The 2025 Chemical Engineer Intern position at Berkshire Hathaway Energy focuses on mineral development projects. Interns will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive reports, presentations, project schedules, and plans. They will also track project financials, invoicing, and the development and construction status of ongoing projects. This position involves assisting in the preparation of contracts, permit applications, and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, interns will analyze financial models and summarize findings for the development team, providing critical insights that will aid in project evaluations. The role may also include performing additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors, allowing for a diverse range of experiences within the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Supports all activities associated with the development and construction of mineral development projects.
  • Assists with evaluation and due diligence on potential investments, acquisitions and other business evaluations and performs research.
  • Develops and maintains reports, presentations, project schedules and plans, and tracks project financials, invoicing and development and construction status of projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of contracts, permit applications, regulatory filings and other activities necessary to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze financial models; provide summary of information to development team on analysis.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
